A. Philip Randolph Campus High School has a reputation for academic excellence. We provide all students with a college preparatory curriculum. A key component of this curriculum is the opportunity to participate in the Advanced Placement (AP) Program.

The AP Program benefits students by introducing them to the challenge of college courses. Success in these courses facilitates success in college. The exposure to college-level courses while still in high school strengthens students’ academic skills and confidence, enabling them to better meet the demands of college. Those who participate may be eligible to receive advanced placement standing, college credit, or both when they enter college.

An AP course is both more challenging and stimulating than a regular high school course. It explores the subject in greater depth and requires more work. Students who enroll in Advanced Placement courses are required to take the Advanced Placement Exam at the end of the school year. Students who enroll are also required to sign a contract indicating their understanding of the course requirements and committing them to remain in the class for the duration of the school year.

A. Philip Randolph Campus High School will be offering the following Advanced Placement Classes in the 2013 - 2014 school year:

AP English Composition
AP English Literature
AP Calculus
AP Micro Economics
AP Macro Economics
AP United States History
AP Biology
